Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Keigo (keigo.tokyo), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Keigo is an AI-powered tool that converts casual Japanese text into appropriate keigo (honorific language) for business communication. The service includes text conversion, keigo checking, templates, and related features available through free and paid subscription plans.

3. User Accounts

You may create an account using email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old to use the service.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Keigo's tools and guides are free. Two optional paid products are available: The Vault, a ¥1,480/month subscription billed through Stripe (cancel anytime — access continues until the end of the billing period), and the Japanese résumé generator, a ¥3,980 one-time purchase. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Right of Withdrawal (EU consumers)

Pursuant to Article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code, EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of subscription, with no reason required.

However, in accordance with Article L221-28 of the same Code, this right does NOT apply to digital services that are fully delivered before the end of the 14-day period, when the consumer has given prior express consent and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal. By starting to use Keigo (a digital service) immediately upon subscription, you expressly waive your right of withdrawal for the portion already consumed.

To exercise your right of withdrawal where applicable: send a request via email to hello@keigo.tokyo within 14 days of subscription.

6. AI-Generated Content

Keigo uses artificial intelligence to generate keigo suggestions. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or inappropriate expressions. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before use. Keigo is a writing assistance tool, not a certified translation service.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the service, including but not limited to: attempting to circumvent usage limits, using automated tools to access the service beyond normal use, reverse-engineering the system, or using the service for any illegal purpose.

8. Intellectual Property

The Keigo service, including its design, code, and AI models, is the property of Keigo. Text you input remains yours. AI-generated output is provided for your use without restriction.

9. Limitation of Liability

Keigo is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of AI-generated content, including but not limited to miscommunication, business losses, or inaccurate translations. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to the interpretation, validity, or performance of these Terms shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nanterre, France (Tribunal des Activités Économiques de Nanterre, where the company I-TECH2 is registered), unless otherwise required by mandatory consumer protection law applicable to the consumer's country of residence.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
